For the last six years I've been an instructor at Writopia Lab, a wonderful non-profit that offers creative writing workshops for kids and teens. This year, some of Writopia's stellar teen writers have organized the first annual Teen Writers' Summit, whose mission is "to curate a diverse platform for teens to assess and advocate their writing by engaging the journalism, collegiate, and literary landscapes." There will be seven outstanding panels, a college/book fair, and a college essay review station.
The event is free, but a $50 insider's ticket will get you a ton of great swag (that just might include a hardcover copy of THE PROS OF CONS!) I'll be co-moderating The Silencing of Loud Voices panel at 10:30, and at noon I'll be at the college essay review station. Stop by and say hi!
